Mataki Lodge trip, Nelson Lakes, at the base of a scree slope

The leaves appear succulent and the inflorescence appear dioecious with some having 2 pistols and most having 5 stamens. The image is about 40cm wide.

Found in a dry ephemeral pool on the way to Ohau

A gentian? Doesn't appear in Mark/Adams book May not be alpine. Open flower approx. 1 cm wide. Any ideas?
